  1. Hello professor
Well about my reflection on building connections: family and friends, and American education.
I could learn that the americans talking about family relationships the parents of an adult person are not considered their dependents or part of his/her inmediate family.
About time most americans are very punctual . most people arrive exactly on time or afew minutes earlyfor an appointmen moreover I was looking for more information and could find that if there is an expected delay, it is costumary to inform the other party by calling them about the delay and apologize immediately upon meeting.
American education has the same division has the same division that our country that is particular and private, but american education is more advanced than our country in the US public schools Public education is universally available, with control and funding coming from the state, local, and federal government Public school curricula, funding, teaching, employment, and other policies are set through locally elected school boards, who have jurisdiction over individual school districts. While in Private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum and staffing policies, with voluntary accreditation available through independent regional accreditation authorities and has different classrooms for different suibjects, more control and done more essay.
    That’s all

  2. hello professor,
To learn more about American Lifestyle is very interesting because I can know more about American culture and the most intersting for me was to know that each region in the U.S. have differences in the language, have different accents and different dialects, some regions talk very fast and some regions talk slow, I think that in this aspect there is no difference whit our country. Also I learned about the family and friendship, if a person in the U.S. have a date for more than three or four times it means that the relationship is going to something more serious., they are friendly, and they want to be independient, and for this reason they move far away from their houses, I think that here in Bolivia young people also want to be independient but they do not move as far away from his family because they need to be near this. In addition I known more about american education and I could see that it has some advantages and disadvantages, for example, one disadvantage is that american students have to pay for study but they also have a lot of advantages such as: the homeschooling, the students have more freedom and can make desicions about their subjects, more extra curricular activities, learning tools, and the schools have more technology that help the education of the students.
was very intersting to learn about American culture thank you professor.

  3. Hello, I am Moises
We learned many things about American life in this part, we learned how is the laws and rules in USA, also we know that in every country are different the laws and rules, for instance the China`s laws are different than Japan or Korea’s laws, the china`s law are more stronger than other country then it is according its culture or idiosyncrasy or values.
Well in the USA is important to know the laws and rules, because the people increase each year and the government is strict with this, there are a lot of stranger people from different countries to visit or to work in USA, then these people have to know the USA`s laws and rules to have a life without problems there.
USA has 50 states, and in each state the people have a different way of life every day, also in USA the people live in distinct side like, west, mid west, north west, and south and those people have their own personalities, respect to each side, for example in the north west of USA the people are more focused in the work, their speak are fast they prefer have a busy day
But in the south of USA the people are more friendly, open, they prefer have a traditional life, therefore there are differences in each regions also in the language.
Respect to family, well the family is an important support when a member of family start the college or a job, although the American citizen prefer get a job or study far of his or her house may be the case out his or her state the American citizen think that it is a good opportunity to become independent, that opportunity is good way to meet new people new friends and new custom.
In the education we did a comparison with our country, respect to the education, there are many differences, in American education the hours of class in Elementary High School is more than in our country, I think the system of education is more advanced than our country because in USA there are good policy respect to the education, we can mention one example about the college the students have support with learning tool, big laboratories of biology to work more comfortable also the students can try to win a scholarship to have a freedom education or class on line.

  4. Hello professor,
Well, I would like to share something that I can found about building connections, in this case romance, first the “Pre-marital sex” or being a “single mother” is not derogatory in American culture since many years. In our culture this is a TABU yet, because we are not accustomed to see this trouble, besides the old people do not tolerate the dating between teenagers to the old people this is a big problem and they considered that can hurt the future of the teenagers such as a “pregnancy does not wish”. On the contrary the Americans are the most open –minded than us. For example dating among Americans teenagers is quite common, also for Americans dating is good for young teens to get experience in the life.
To conclude I could analyze that the cultures change through the time for example in this case in our country is changing the perspective that we have about dating and co-habitation, also there is a new way to build relationship or to get married through the internet and social pages this is most common day by day specially in US.

  5. hello professor,
I learnt about the communication the language is very important in the society.
Many countries as United States, Bolivia, France, Japan, etc. These countries have different ways of communication as spoken language, body language, formal and informal language; each person has own personality for instance some people wait to say something like express ideas, opinions and experiences to someone, but other people interrupt when others are spoken.
Other point, Eskimos people have a particular culture this is very interesting for me because they live in approximately in North America in the areas near the Artic Circle, where there very ice, moreover they different way of life as their language, their food and their clothing.
    AMERICAN LIFESTYLE II
I think that is other country as EEUU the education is more advanced than the Bolivian education because American lifestyle is very expensive. The economic is a factor that influence in that country like EEUU government has, but this does not mean that Bolivian education has less progress in the education of the students; all this depends to the norms that it is handled by the Ministry of education in Bolivia. There is also other factor very important the technology it should be day to day in the students who should investigate and actualize with it.
The students are independents they have different experiences, thought and criticisms.

  6. Hello professor,

Every week it is great to learn more about another culture. We talked different aspects of American lifestyle like laws and rules. I think it is very important that when we travel another country we must know some laws and rules because we cannot say I didn’t know that rule. There are serious punishment for people who is considered guilty, so we have to take into account to know some rules and laws every country has.
Also there are different cultures in US and in Bolivia we have some similar characteristics. For example, people from Tarija are laidback like west American people, the same happen with northeast American people that is focused on work like people who live in La Paz, these similarities are interesting
Family and friends are really significant in American lifestyle, they are friendly and open in building connections because when they finished high school, they have to move another state or in other case they move for work, so build connections it is like a necessity for them.
Finally, we talked about American and Bolivian education, there are many advantages and disadvantages. I think American education is more organized and it has a high level in education especially in college, however education is too expensive, whereas Bolivian education is free and we have to take advantage of that

    Hello profesor
I learnt that American lifestyle is very interesting and different than other. American people are foccused in work, the most important for them is the money. For it does not share more time with their family. Also they tend to be independent, it is important, because they development different capacities, strategies to resolve different problems in the life. it help to be one person with good judgment. It helps to contribute in development country. The rules than imply are addressed to economic development. Also the education in UU.EE. is very advanced, it is privated. But it has different polities in differents aspect of educational system as curriculum. They have extracurricular class, have advanced technology to improve their knowledge in different subject. About punctuality for Americans the time is money. In differents situation as work, interview, parties and other events they are very punctual all member of family comply this rules of behavior. For same this characteristics American’s country is the potential economic in the world.

    Hello Profesor,

I will like to shere some information about american education.
Education in the United States is provided by both public and private schools.

Public education is universally available, with control and funding coming from the state, local, and federal government.
Public school, teaching, employment, and other policies are set through locally elected school boards, who have jurisdiction over individual school districts. State governments set educational standards and mandate standardized tests for public school systems.

Private schools are generally free to determine their own curriculum and staffing policies, with voluntary accreditation available through independent regional accreditation authorities. 88% of school-age children attend public schools, 9% attend private schools, and nearly 3% are homeschooled. education in their houses.

Education is compulsory over an age range starting between five and eight and ending somewhere between ages sixteen and eighteen, depending on the state. This requirement can be satisfied in public schools, state-certified private schools, or an approved home school program. In most schools, education is divided into three levels: elementary school, middle or junior high school, and high school. Children are usually divided by age groups into grades, ranging from kindergarten and first grade for the youngest children, up to twelfth grade as the final year of high school.

There are also a large number and wide variety of publicly and privately administered institutions of higher education throughout the country. Post-secondary education, divided into college, as the first tertiary degree, and graduate school, is described in a separate section below.
Also in some universityes the students live there, for many reasons.

  10. Hello professor.
First of all, I would like to apologize for posting too late.
About, what I learned in Rule of Law, something I researched is: The three-strikes law significantly increases the prison sentences of persons convicted who have been previously convicted of two or more violent crimes or serious felonies, and limits the ability of these offenders to receive a punishment other than a life sentence. Violent and serious felonies are specifically listed in state laws. Violent offenses include murder, robbery of a residence in which a deadly or dangerous weapon is used, rape and other sex offenses; serious offenses include the same offenses defined as violent offenses, but also include other crimes such as burglary of a residence and assault with intent to commit a robbery or murder.Cultures in the US, and of course they are too different from us here in Bolivia. Talking about culture: for example what they eat, listen to, or even what they look at in their country is quite different from the lifestyle we have here. American culture includes both conservative and liberal aspects, scientific and religious competitiveness, political structures, risk taking and free expression, materialist and moral elements. Despite certain consistent ideological principles (individualism, and faith in freedom and democracy), American culture has a variety of expressions due to its geographical scale and demographic diversity. Building connections: family and friends, well Family arrangements in the United States reflect the nature of contemporary American society, as they always have. Although the nuclear family concept (two-married adults with biological children) holds a special place for Americans, it is single-parent families, and American education is also applied. Thanks!

  11. Hello profesor
I learnt a lot of about american lifestyles. First of all i can know the difference there are between USA and Bolivia lifestyle; it starts with family. This institution can move of a place to other, but according to Bolivian family live where they find a place, it can be for a long time. Another difference is about the education, American people can get a lot of option about this because it is free, on the other hand Bolivian education is limited to some law. Some on common between both lifestyles is the personality of people. It can be according to the región. All this features about their and our lifestyle is very necessary because focused on this we can act. Althoug we dont know to detail, these signs teach to search not only about this country, also to other countries. If we ignore this details, we can make some errors or bad interpretation like the case of Bolivian people that went to China to study, but they were expel.

  12. What did i learn?
People have to adapt to the situations, wherever we go there are rules which has to be followed in order not to have problems. In the case of the two people who were caught in a difficult situation. having their peer´s celphone was the reason to take them back home and give all the money back because people who were in charge of selecting the people invest money to prepare them, so as grantees are in troubles because of misunderstanding of rules.
Sure there were different points that called my attention for example drinking and driving here in Bolivia, La Paz there are rules that says people under 21 are not allawed to buy beer or any other alcoholic beverage, but sellers do not care about it.

  13. hello professor :
family and friends, and American education. What I learned You know when you move out of your parents’ house and live on your own, how you start hanging out with your friends’ families and you realize that actually, your family was a little
you always assumed was normal your entire childhood,
US is probably the best place in the world to live. The system is stacked heavily to allow people of talent and advantage to rise to the top quickly. Unless you’re speaking with a real estate agent or a prostitute, chances are they’re not going to be excited that you’re American. It’s not some badge of honor we get to parade around another point at education has the especial system to qualify to students Where a State has undertaken to provide an opportunity for an education in its public schools, such an opportunity is a right which must be made available to all on equal terms.
that I would comment about this topic

  14. The most interesting of Americans to me was the punctuality. Most Americans are very punctual. Most people arrive exactly on time or a few minutes early for an appointment. Although most high tech jobs do not require exact arrival and departure times, most people at most jobs arrive on time and work hard during their shifts. If there is an unexpected delay, it is customary to inform the other party by calling them about the delay and apologize immediately upon meeting. I am also interested in teens that leave homes after 21 years old to live by themselves without help. Comparing with our country, USA is very different, but at the same time so exciting.

  15. María Eugenia Quispe Hello profesor
I learnt that American and Bolivia culture are very different in many aspect of life way. For american the time is very important, they are punctual, never be late to classes, employment interviews, appointments. Always be on time to the job interview and to your job it shows respecfull. If anybody arrive late it shows rude behavior because according their perception the time is Money. But in Bolivia culture arrive late for any appointements is very common. But I think that is important reflect about this aspect, and begin change some attitude of punctuality. Because arrive on time is important and the change it is posible.

About communication in oral communication american culture characterize of Monochronic cultures say one thing at time, wait the other person finish her idea and the eyes contact (show interesting, respect, atention in the conversation) when speaking anybody. It aspect in this culture to get good undertanding in the communication. Otherwise Bolivia is polichronic diferent things, ideas at same time it avoid better undertanding when interchange ideas.
The most shoking was the life style is according physical context, beliefs place where living of people, for example specially for aymara culture thank of different type of ground grow, produce diferent type of potatoes aproximaly more than 150 kind of potatoes as: qhini, phiñu, qami, axawiri, phurixa, luqi, wila imilla (red potatoe), ch`iyara imilla (black potatoe) and others the production of them it is according region. And when anyone go to the market or open market buy potatoes say what kind of potatoes want buying. I think learnig of culture is very interesting, and the comparation get better learning for undertanding different aspects of culture.
