  6. first day in class we talk about "culture" many definitions about this was very different the culture can be belief, identity language tradition and others, but all that it is realized with the learning of the people who share different experiences, ideas, besides the most important is the communication, which they learn of a common language as English also teaching the culture to others could be very complex for the different way of life that there in all the world, but all this is culture.

Other case is the context it is very important to identify the mean about in the situation or place that could find it as such "the six blind men and the elephant " they thought of different way when they touch of different place to the elephant as resulted is the same, although the different beliefs become the same; that is culture by he thought different of each person.
The culture is very dynamic that it begin in a society besides, there exist five dimentions of culture that they will be very important as products, practices, perspectives, communities and person.
I think that the culture is the way of life of each country that they have differents costumes, belief and behaviors of the people that they learn of their own culture and also they taught us their by the language.
In my personal experience I traveled to Peru when I arrived to the place, first I looked the houses were very old, these had an arquitectonic shape of "the incas",moreover I heard their languages, their Spanish Language were very different from ours, besides they ate in large plates with big portions, I was surprised the culture is very different in Peru.

  7. Hello professor I think that this blog is interesting,
For the question what is the definition of culture?
Well I think that the definition of culture is a bit complex because it can be defined culture from different viewpoints either linguistically, psychologically anthropologically, sociologically, and others, but according to what I learned these two weeks of classes, is that culture a culture is a way of life of a group of people-is (this consist in behaviors, beliefs, values, costumes, religion, traditions, experience,, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, notions of time, roles, spatial relations) everything that for which man does, such as doing activities that we were going class to class so far, reflecting our behavior, about the issues that we were going. I remember learning that the first class we could show our traditions, thought and values, through the pictures we did, in addition culture include beliefs that everyone have, so "culture" to refer to a universal human capacity (to learn , to interact with others effectively , to acquire knowledge implicit and explicit ). Then culture also is the art and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively and the affective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization, it refers when people that have different languages need and to learn a second language and also to learn more about different cultures of the world also is a factor which determines and regulates shapes human behavior. Finally culture is assumptions ( cause and effect of relationships, or estimates of the existence of a fact from the known existence of other fact(s). Beliefs, knowledge, norms, and values, as well as attitudes, behavior, dress, and language culture can also go from generation to generation independently of the biological genes, to finish Culture as it says in the first part of this text has been defined in a number of ways, but most simply, as the learned and shared behavior of a community of interacting human beings, I think that is culture.

  8. Hello Professor!
    This is Evelyn
    Talking about culture…
I think this topic refers mainly to the knowledge, values, beliefs, attitudes, hierarchies, meanings, religión, roles, concepts of all the universo.
Well, from this concep I wouldf like to resque a Little beat of what we discuss through the clases. Culture is represented by a group of people which has a systems of knowledge shared amogn this group, it could be even a large group of people. Also culture is communication, as communication is cultura, since we canot adopt a cultura without a language to communicate with each other. I mean that culture in its broadest sense is a cultivated behavior; that is the totality of what a person learns through his life, or the accumulated experience which is socially transmitted by means of intercultural shearing, or more briefly, it is the behavior through social learning.
For example a culture is a way of life of a group of people, here in Bolivia, the behaviors, beliefs, values, and symbols that we accept, generally without thinking about them, and that are passed along by communication and imitation from one generation to the next; we have been creating and developing our culture. Some of this symbols include a group's skills, knowledge, attitudes, values, and motives. The meanings of the symbols are learned and deliberately perpetuated in a society through its institutions (the family, school, university, different places where we work).
Finally I concider that culture is a sum of the total knowledge we learne in our lives, such as: our behavior that is generally considered to be the tradition of the people we are and also how we transmit it from generation to generation.

    THANK YOU PROFESSOR

  9. The writer of the book tell us about his own experience in a nice way about culture, he travel to different places in order to know more about culture and he learnt a lot when he was in every place because although in some countries speak the same language, the culture of every place has different traditions beliefs and identity.Taking about Bolivia every place has its own customs and traditions and the media is an important instrument to foster culture, we can learn about culture by differents ways such as books, in class or through other experiences of people who have traveled another country but is different our own experience becaause we can learn more.personally I have not traveled yet another country but I have known foreign people and their traditions and the way of life are kind of different. The writer says that bringing our own stories to light can help us see how to foster culture learning so it is important to promove our own culture.however we have to be aware of there are a lot definitions about culture and is viewed in differents ways we use culture to communicate to each other first we learn and then we can share our experience to other people. culture involves traditions, behaviors, customs, thoughts, history , identity, therefore is the way of life that a group of person have,it does not matter that the group be small or big, every language has its own identity so when we have the opportunity to know other culture we have to have the ability to interact other cultures in order to learn more. Finally, Culture is not static always is changing is constructed through interpersonal relationship.

  10. CULTURE
We have to accept that is difficult to define “culture” because there are different points of view, but it is not impossible, for example according to the text “defining culture”, culture is the evolving way of life of a group of persons, this is the best conception to answer our question because when the author talk about evolving he relates all the aspects such as products, practices, perspectives, persons and communities. Also the author suggest teach the meaning of culture relating these five dimensions to have a best understanding of what is culture. So in my own words I can say that culture is all those aspects that involve us such as abstract (beliefs) and tangible (tools) aspects, the relation of these aspects creates culture. In my own experience I learned that is so important to define culture, we know that there are different kinds of cultures, so to have a best understanding about those differences we have to define culture and how the last author said we can relate the five dimensions ( products, practices, perspectives, persons and communities) to find a common point among us and thus to prevent misunderstandings and to have best relations with other persons, because a misunderstanding can be a beginning of a fight or in the worse case a beginning of a war.

  11. culture
Culture to me means all the customs, traditions and beliefs that people and countries have. For example here in Bolivia we celebrate "Alasitas" where people buy little things wishing that these things came true, but in other countries this belief does not exist.
In the two weeks of classes I learnd that culture means all those features (or things) that surround a person such as language, music, religions, beliefs, identity so on, even so is difficult define culture because culture enclose a lot of definitons according to the different piont of view that each person has, also whit the presentations I learnd that we can learning culture and teaching culture. According to the author of the text in the first chapter he mentioned a story of his own expierence where he learned about differents cultures through of the language and in the second chapter mentioned five dimensions: products, practices, persons, perspectives and communities, that he used to define culture. In conclusion I can say that culture varies depending on where a person grows.

  13. hello professor The movie " the loving history "yesterday night was very interesting that between two races differents, they had many problems with the law those people of the court didn ´t permit the marriage them regardless they had perseverance and confidence but beyond of all this from my point of view the humanity is one way of life and it is unique in the world that all we can change and to break the discrimination that exists in the country show and in other countries of the world, it may be very detrimental by a monotous life that it is discriminatory and not progressive.

Other point very important is the " culture" that it has many diversity the humans have
created differents way of life as customs, belief, values, attitudes and others in the societies.

I think the culture would be medium of approach of these two people who wanted to share so much together apart from that they had a romance as a couple.
Many people have differents thinking and values they could think which is good and bad for their society which this could only be as social convention.
Therefore we each have different goals to follow, which all of us can built a society that it won´t have differencies by the culture or race; these have many meanings for us as share esperiences, values, ideas and the most important is the communication all this would help us to change many problems and become better people and to built a better world.

  15. Culture is a powerful human tool for survival, but it is a fragile phenomenon. It is constantly changing and easily lost because it exists only in our minds. Our written languages, governments, buildings, and other man-made things are merely the products of culture. They are not culture in themselves. It is the characteristics of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Today, in the United States as in other countries populated largely by immigrants, the culture is influenced by the many groups of people that now make up the country. Culture is also referred to the cumulative deposit of knowledge, experience, beliefs, values, attitudes, meanings, hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the universe, and material objects and possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through individual and group striving.

  17. María Eugenia Quispe Hello profesor
I think Culture is the way of life it show according accumulated experiences of life from generation to generation share specially throught family as father, mother grandmother, grandfather, etc and each contex where live, and development our knowledge. It refers to the cumulative of knowledge, experience, beliefs, ,values, notions of time, meanings, religion, roles, spatial relations, point of view of world. These are reflect throught behavior in any place where we develop. For example according befaviour before begin luch or any eatin pray god or thank to pachamama for food, it is depending of beliefs. Each culture has different characteristic in case of meal of the aymara culture is very tradional the apthapi (diferent food as diferent kind of potatoes (as phiñu, waycha, imilla roja, etc), chuño, meat, cheese, apila and other meals) each behavior characterize, identify the culture.
